What service does your local Community Council Provide?

  • Maintain's Nantglyn Cemetery and King Georges Playing field (annual inspections, maintenance, grass cutting, developments) and Nantglyn War Memorial.

What work is/has been done by the Community Council?

  • Maintainance of  the playground & recreation field in Nantglyn, arranging grass cutting, public insurance and yearly safety inspections
  • Maintain and manage Nantglyn Cemetery
  • We are consulted by Denbighshire County Council on all planning applications within the community
  • Inform Denbighshire County Council Highways Authority on highways matters (damaged roads, drainage etc)
  • Arranged the funding and managed the renovation work of the War Memorial in Nantglyn
  • Working with a local environmental organisation to look at the feasibility of using renewable energy sources for the community.
  • Home Energy Surveys and advice available to all homes (2010 - 2011)
  • Community Questionnaire to find out what is important to the community

    Nantglyn Community Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm excluding August. Meetings are held at Nantglyn Church House and Capel y Waen alternately. See advertised meeting for location. Minutes of meetings are available online under the "Next Meeting Minutes & Agenda"

    Mae Cyngor Cymuned Nantglyn yn cyfarfod ar ddydd Mawrth cyntaf bob mis am 7.30 yh ac eithrio mis Awst. Mae’r cyfarfodydd yn cael eu cynnal yn Neuadd yr Eglwys, Nantglyn ac Capel y Waen. Mae'r minedau o'r cyfarfod ar gael odan "Meeting Minutes & Agenda" ar y gwefan hon.

Meetings are open to the public to attend and express their views or ask questions on any item included in the agenda at the alloted time. If you have an item you would like to raise at the meeting please contact the clerk to request it is added to the agenda before the meeting (2 days before).

Annual General Meetings & Elections / Cyfarfod Blynyddol Cyffredinol ac Etholiadau

    The Annual General Meeting is held each May at the usual meeting time of 7.30pm. The election of Community Council members is held every 4 years in May. The AGM follows directly after. The next election will be held in May 2016.

Mae’r Cyfarfod Blynyddol Cyffredinol yn cael ei gynnal bob mis Mai ar y dyddaid a’r amser cyfarfod arferol. Mae etholiad o aelodau Cyngor y Gymuned bob 4 ‘mlynedd yn ystod mis Mai. Fe ddilyna’r Cyfarfod Blynyddol Cyffredinol yn syth wedyn. Bydd yr etholiad nesaf yn cael ei gynnal mis Mai 2016.

Funding and Finance / Cyllid ac Arian

    The Community Council raises its finance by means of the annual precept. This is collected by Denbighshire County Council as the smallest element of the overall Council Tax and is then paid over to Nantglyn Community Council. Councillors are elected by and from the community, and work unpaid and voluntarily on your behalf. The Council has a part time Clerk to provide administrative, financial and secretarial support, and guidance to the Members.
