After almost two years of discussion, Tees Forest had made some significant progress in obtaining funds which would allow us to improve access to this privately owned woodland. Unfortunately, the landowner has now expressed serious concerns about the long-term community commitment (and community involvement is key to the funding). These doubts are partly based on the low turn-out for the recent litter-pick in the valley. At the moment, we believe that we have insufficient local support for this project to persuade the landowner to give us the go-ahead. The project has been shelved.
