Having served previously on Mold Rural Council, Olive Sweetman(left) was elected to the new Gwernymynydd Community Council in 1984. Liz Parry (right) joined the following year. They stood down in May 2012. Chair of the Council, Marjorie Thomson said “Both Olive and Liz have given many years of voluntary service to the village and both have served the community exceptionally well."
Diamond Jubilee Parade June 4th 2012
A parade of villagers followed the King and Queen for the day around the top and bottom estates returning to the Village Centre for a street party.
