North Lanarkshire Council have agreed a proposal to clean up the Carrickstone and the immediate area surrounding it. The fence erected by developers will be moved away. There will be new fencing with a gate, a new information board, removal of the current vegetation around the base of the stone to be replaced with gravel stone and an improvement to the immediate landscape. A much needed improvement to an important part of our local history.
