End of Life Care and Support

As part of my role as Community Engagement Officer for Argyll and Bute with Marie Curie, we are looking to conduct a number of focus groups with people who live within the communities of Argyll and Bute. The focus groups will be held within different locations and each one will focus on a different demographic. The aim of the focus groups is to hear from people first-hand about what they think their community needs in relation to end of life care and support. We hope talk about the whole end of life experience, to allow us to learn more about what support people need in terms of bereavement or how to have important conversations about death and dying throughout their lives. These focus groups will help us to shape our work within your community in the future.

I am looking at holding a group on Bute on the afternoon of Tuesday the 3rd of September, at 2pm for approximately an hour and a half, we will be meeting at the Lade Centre, at 58 Ladeside Street, Rothesay, refreshments will be provided. We’d look to have around 8 participants in the group. As Bute is an island community I am interested in everyone’s views, people of any age all I ask is that you have had experience of a close relative or friend who has died. The conversation will be around death, dying and bereavement. If you are interested in taking part within this group please contact me direct. Alison Craig, Marie Curie Community Engagement Officer for Argyll and Bute on 07884 233 740 or via email on alison.craig@mariecurie.org.
