FUN DAY

This was a huge success with lots of positive feedback. A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this another successful event. Lots of photos were taken and these will soon be available online and on display locally for all to see.

Obviously this event would not be possible without the help and hard work from various people - you know who you are!

If you would be interested in helping out next year please get in touch via the website. All help, big or small, would be very much appreciated.

 PARADE

AND

FAMILY DISCO

Thanks to everyone who took part in the parade. It was great to see so many people dressed up. Well done to The Wizard of Oz and Angels Gateway, the winners of Best Dressed Person and Best Dressed Vehicle. The Family Disco was a sell-out and a good time was had by all.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.

FAMILY TREASURE TRAIL

Thanks to everyone who turned out despite the weather. It wasn't a huge turnout but everyone who came along seemed to have good fun and also learnt a little bit about the Glen (hopefully!).

There were 8 teams in all. Three teams got 12/23; one with 15/23; two with 16/23 and two with 18/23. The fastest time was 30mins 31secs.

The winning team was 'We've Got a Clue' with highest score and fastest time.

A big well done to Scott, Graeme, Ryan and Craig.

Ryan and Craig won themselves £26 worth of tokens for the Fun Day on Saturday!!

Welcome

To

Roslin & Bilston Community Council

The Community Council is a voluntary organisation that meets once a month and provides a forum for residents, businesses and groups within Roslin, Bilston and the surrounding area. At our meetings, held on the first Thursday of every month, members of the public are free to come along and raise any issue they wish with our committee. Also at the meetings are the local councillors and a representative from Lothian and Borders Police.

We are looking for people who run groups, own businesses in the area or people who have a strong interest in the community to join us. If you are interested in becoming a member please attend one of our monthly meetings or use our contact page.

The community council was formed in 1974 and it's objectives are .....

  • to ascertain, co-ordinate and express to the local authorities for its area and to public authorities, the views of the community which it represents, in relation to matters for which those authorities are responsible, and to take such action in the interests of that community as appears to it to be expedient and practicable.
  • the encouragement of co-operation among the various community organizations in the area.
  • the retention of the identity of a Community amongst people living in the Area.

This website aims to provide information to the local community with an emphasis on practical advice. If you have anything to add to the site, spot any problems with the site, or if you have suggestions, please contact us.
