Tim Parker has also asked you to take a look at Balance Your Bobbies a fresh and innovative way for the public, to let the police know what is important. Responses inform your local Neighbourhood Policing Teams of key issues specific to your community, and by Balancing your Bobbies you will be able to inform your District Inspector where you believe his/her neighbourhood policing resources should be spent. If you can complete the quick survey they would be very grateful and in the long run will hopefully benefit the community. Please click on the link below

SCHOOL WATCH
07 July 2010
You can help your local school save money
Schools have a limited budget. Valuable resources, which should be used to educate our children, are being diverted to combat burglary and vandalism and the schools are having to spend money to meet the expense of securing premises with window grills, alarms, security cameras, fences and other security devices.
Do you live near or overlooking a school?
Do you walk or drive past a school?
If the answer is YES - you can help!
Take a few seconds to look at the school....
WHO IS THERE?
WHY ARE THEY THERE?
WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
If you see anything unusual or anyone acting suspiciously, perhaps someone on the school premises after school hours or during school holidays...
IF YOU SEE IT - REPORT IT! DON'T DELAY! TELEPHONE 101
In an emergency call 999 and ask for the service you require or use the CRIMESTOPPERS number in confidence, with any relevant details, no matter how minor.

Dewch i roi eich barn a rhannu'ch syniadau gyda'r Prif Weithredwr ac Arweinydd Cyngor Sir Ddinbych, ac uwch gynrychiolwyr Heddlu Gogledd Cymru, Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Sir Ddinbych a Bwrdd Iechyd Lleol Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr.
Meet your community council including new member Linda Roberts who was co-opted in June.
Darren Millar AM will be joining us for the evening to discuss local issues and answer questions from the floor. There will also be representation from the Community Police team; the AONB; Carbon Trust and Denbighshire County Council Highways Department.
Presentations will be from:-
Jennifer Rowlands: The Community Council are currently considering two potential projects for the Village Hall. The proposals are:
Transfer the ownership of the Hall from the County Council to the Community Council.
Upgrade the Hall to provide financial and environmental sustainability. We are applying for funding from various grants with the help of Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council to cover all of these works.
The option to do nothing is also on the table, but we believe we are not in a position to maintain the Hall in its current state on behalf of the community, so are recommending that the community agrees to bring the Hall into Community Ownership, and to support the grant applications to upgrade the Hall.
Come along to have your say and tell us whether you want us to ensure the Village Hall is preserved for the community and be maintained in a sustainable way in the future by upgrading and making it more environmentally friendly.
Sian Jones: One of the jobs I agreed to do as a Community Councillor was to register two small parcels of land in the village as ‘Village Greens’ under the Commons Registration Act 2006. The task has been harder than I first thought, mainly because it has been difficult to gather evidence to show that a significant number of inhabitants have indulged as of right in lawful sports and pastimes on the land for a period of at least 20 years.
Please come along to the public meeting to find out more and help us to decide whether or not to continue with these applications for Village Greens status; there will be a short presentation and discussion followed by a vote.
John Ingham: Denbighshire County Council have not accepted that Lon Cae Glas has a traffic problem ever since serious discussions began in 2002 when a partial one-way system was proposed. There has been a significant increase in traffic since then and new planning applications in the offing for the Moel Famau area have the real potential to increase traffic even more. The Highways Department have left discussions, in the event that land becomes available, to construct a suitable (concessionary) footpath adjacent to Lon Cae Glas for a distance of some 200m north of the Penn Lan property (and funding can be secured) they would then reconsider the introduction of a partial one-way restriction over this length of the lane. We believe that this response is wholly inadequate on grounds of safety for pedestrians and drivers alike.
We welcome your views on the matter and how best to press for a solution.
If you cannot attend the meeting but have a view, please contact the Clerk or one of the members of the community council who are presenting.
