Richard Thomas

Richard is a jolly nice man,  he knows everyone in the village. 

Area Representative for Mold Road, Bathafarn and Llanrhydd. 

Responsible for the Community Gardens/Waen Woods.

 

Jennifer Rowlands Vice Chairman

As well as vice chairman, Jennifer is also Chair of the Village Hall committee and is responsible for website development.

Jennifer and her husband Chris and the cat have lived in Llanbedr since 2007, but her husband Chris grew up in Llanbedr, living in Tyn y Celyn from the age of 2 months until he moved to Ruthin aged 21. Before returning to Llanbedr, Jennifer and Chris lived in Ruthin for 10 years.

Jennifer is originally from West Cumbria, so understands the particular issues of rural communities. As well as her community council interests, she is also a helper at the 1st Brynbach Ruthin Scout Troop, studying with the Open University and works for Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council helping local businesses who want to get more involved with their communities.

Jennifer's claim to fame is that her husband used to own a classic jaguar that was once owned by a famous racing driver...

Responsible for Village Hall Committee (and Chair)/web site development. 

 

John Ingham, Chairman

John is the Chairman of the Community Council and also represents the Llanbedr Hall area of the village. He has been a Community Councillor since 2004 and was the Council's Clerk until standing down from the voluntary post at the May 2008 local elections.

John is a retired Regular Army Officer and a family man with three adult children. Together with his wife Maxine he has lived in Llanbedr since 1999. He believes strongly that local authorities should be held accountable to the electorate and should be responsive to their views.

John's main interests outside the Community Council are gardening, wildlife and fishing.

Area Representative for Llanbedr Hall and drive area.

Responsible for LHARA (Secretary), Llanbedr Combined Charities, Village Hall - Treasurer, Christmas Lights event.

 

Linda Roberts

Co-opted in June 2010.

Area Representative for Llanbedr village east of Village Hall.

Responsible for the village maintenance.

 

Andrew Kelly

Since 2002 Andrew has worked in Cheshire County Council’s Highways Department. His job is to answer the difficult enquiries to the width of the highway boundary. He also produces the list of all the roads in Cheshire that are maintained by the County Council.

Andrew has 16 years practical experience using a variety of historical documentary sources in public rights of way definitive map disputes. For 8 years he was the Chairman and Research Officer for a local Bridleways Association. His rights of way experience extends to giving advice to Ministers, Members of Parliament, Welsh Assembly Members and members of both the National Farmers Union and the Farmers Union of Wales.

Andrew is studying for an MSc in Public Rights of Way and Countryside Access Management through Distance Learning at Sheffield Hallam University. He hopes that with the experience he has gained that it will put him in a good position to get a respected job to fully utilise the skills he has to offer in public rights of way.

In addition to sitting on the Community Council, Andrew is also on the Old St Peter’s Church Management Committee being responsible for the Ruins and the Graveyard.

In his spare time of what there is of it, Andrew likes horse riding, hill walking, photography and would like to get back to playing the occasional game of golf.

Responsible as liaison for Old St Peter's Committee, Public Rights of Way.

 

Dave Matischok


Dave is a local business entrepreneur and a good man to know if you radiators are playing up. He is often to be found walking his huge dog.

  

 

Siân Jones

Cefais fy magu ar fferm yn Llandrillo ger Corwen cyn mynd i Goleg Prifysgol Llundain i astudio cwrs Daearyddiaeth. Ar ôl graddio bum yn gweithio yn Henffordd am flwyddyn cyn symud i Lanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd yn barhaol.  

Rwy’n Fasnachwr Ynni i gwmni First Hydro (sy’n eiddo i International Power) ac rwy’n gweithio o’r swyddfa yn Ewloe. Mae fy nhîm i yn gyfrifol am fasnachu trydan ar ran gorsafoedd Dinorwig a Ffestiniog yng Ngogledd Cymru.  Rwy’n aelod o Glwb Golff Rhuthun Pwllglas a Chlwb Pelrwyd Merched Rhuthun. Rwy’n ysgrifennydd a thrysorydd y clwb pelrwyd ac rwy’n hyfforddi chwaraewyr ifanc. Fy niddordebau eraill yw ffermio a bod yn yr awyr agored.  Ymunais â’r Cyngor Cymuned ym mis Mai 2008 gan fy mod i’n awyddus i ymwneud mwy gyda materion lleol, a defnyddio fy mhrofiad er budd y gymuned. 

I was brought up on a farm in Llandrillo near Corwen and I studied Geography at University College London. After graduating I worked in Hereford for a year before moving to Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd permanently.

I am an Energy Trader for First Hydro Company (owned by International Power) and my office is in Ewloe near Chester. My team is responsible for trading electricity for the Dinorwig and Ffestiniog pumped storage assets in North Wales.

I am a member of Ruthin Pwllglas Golf Club and Ruthin Ladies Netball Club. I am secretary and treasurer of the netball club and I coach netball to junior players. My other interests are farming and being outdoors.

I joined the community council in May 2008 as I am keen to have greater involvement in local issues and to give the community the benefit of my experience.

Area Representative for Clwyd Gate, Highlands and A494 east of Tan Yr Unto.

Responsible for The Link, registration of village greens.

 

 

Pauline Dobb

Pauline is an active member of the community. As well as being the local County Councillor, she is also Governor at Ysgol Llanbedr, Governor at Howell's School, Denbigh, Executive member of Clwyd West Conservatives, a volunteer at the Stroke Association Dysphasia Support and also with Independent Age, a member of St Cynhafal Church and a member of Gellifor Ladies Circle.

Responsible as Governor Llanbedr Primary School/Overview, Liaison with Denbighshire County Council and neighbouring Llangynhafal.

 

Mike Gill

Area Representative for Lon Cae Glas, Tan Y Bryn.

Responsibility as Governor Llanbedr Primary School.
