Please write in our guestbook. What do you think of this website? What do you think of the community council? What do you think of Llanbedr? Let us have your views! Old church thankyou volunteers. I am currently working on a Family History project in order to remember people from the past, their times and places. I have been astonished as images of ruins of dwellings, springs from where people obtained water, mines down which men descended and much, much else has been poured into a mass of Census and Parish Records data to create an amazing seemingly ever-growing view of the past. Until recently I had no idea my great great grandparents walked across the fields of Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd and that their children were carried for christening through the door of your old church in the 1820s. So I want to thank the people who cleared excess plantlife in the old church. I was able to walk into it, imagine times long past and create some more images for my project.... quite magical. Thankyou. I'll help with any work if you wish. Posted by Nigel on 14 August 2010 Ancestry Just popped in to say hello - I've found out my Great Grandfather's family hail from Llanbedr (and Hirwaen), and used to run a grocers shop there in the mid 1800's. We have Joseph Roberts on the 1861 census definately there, living at Bryn Coch, although probably not the farm of that name, as he is only listed as a labourer. Posted by Andy Bell on 17 June 2010 Richard Thomas I have just stumbled on this web site and am not surprised to see that "Ritchie" Thomas is involved in looking after the community in Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd. I was born in Llangynhafal and my Gran had the griffin for many years.I remeber many fantastic Llanbedr Shows, helping Ritchie and his father with the show, which was always a great success. I hope that is still going. I am glad that you have someone who will endeavour to keep the Llanbedr community a family. I just wanted to say how fantastic your website is and this is exactly what being a Community Council is all about--involving your community and communicating with them.....It's really impressive. I have advised our C.C. take a leaf out of your book. I do hope they get in touch with you.
I wish to also add that I spoke to Jackie, your Clerk and t most most refreshing to speak to a forward thinking, modern and approachable member of the Council. They're not all like this, I can assure you...Look after her!
