Gwernymynydd Village Centre

Gwernymynydd Village Centre is available for a variety of purposes, such as fund raising, children’s parties, dances, attic sales, bring & buy sales, band/choir practices etc. and has various afternoon and evening vacancies available.

As well as a large hall area, the Centre has kitchen facilities, full toilet facilities (including disabled) and a small committee room which can be hired separately or be included in with the other rooms. The football pitch can be hired for occasional matches  or on a regular basis and has changing rooms and showers.

We regret that we are not able to take bookings for young person parties (teenagers / 21st birthday).

The Village Centre is run by a Management Committee which is made up of

6 elected members 

up to 4 co-opted representatives of voluntary organisations active within the community

2 representatives from the Community Council

1 representative from Flintshire County Council (Councillor Nancy Mathews).

At the AGM of the Management Committee held on 15th May 2011 the following 6 people were elected:   Sharon Godwin,  Helen Roberts,  Kevin Hughes, Karen Jones, Carl Jackson, Anita Thomas.

The voluntary organisation positions are taken by Mountain Harmony, John Seddon (Website) and Anu Beadle (Christmas Fair). (There remains one vacancy.)

Cllrs. Rob Sheppard and John Homersley take up the two Community Councillor positions. 

The following officers were elected at the first meeting of the new committee on 29th May 2012.
