Glenboggin to be swapped with Berwick-upon-Tweed

Following pressure from campaigners in Berwick to have the town ceded to Scotland, we understand a plan has been hatched by the Scottish Government to have Glenboggin named as part of the deal.

In a like-for-like swap, sun-kissed, leafy seaside town, Berwick-upon-Tweed is to become part of Scotland, whilst windy, desolate Glenboggin will return to English rule for the first time since the great Fetterannie insurrection of 1719.

One local resident, a Mr Reginald Cooper-Smythe said "What an absolutely splendid idea - it's about time the natives here received a little cultural education. As part of England I'm sure we'll benefit greatly - why I wouldn't be surprised if we get Channel 5 before the end of the decade!"

Scottish government justice secretary, Kenny Macaskill said "It is nonsense to say a deal has been done, and there is no way that we would be prepared to have any beautiful part of Scotland transferred to England". Somehow, we're not entirely reassured by that.
