Dunoon Community Council meets the second Monday of the month and the general public are welcome to attend
Dunoon is a holiday resort on the banks of the river Clyde It has a population of approximately 10 thousand which increases during the holiday period The town was a crossing point for the highland drovers taking their cattle to the markets in Renfrewshire and Ayrshire During the Victorian era wealthy Glaswegians built their holiday homes here These houses are now mainly hotels or residential homes for the elderly From 1961 t0 1992 the U S Navy had a base at Holy Loch Sandbank and the majority of personel lived in the Dunoon area Dunoon is now the Maritime Gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossach's National Park
Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in St Mun's Church Hall at 19.30 Public are very welcome to attend
