The "Official Opening" of the newly upgraded and adopted Achaleven Road took place on Tuesday evening, 8 July 2014.

Cllrs. Elaine Robertson and Duncan MacIntyre who were both extremely helpful in achieving the upgrade and adoption, hold the ribbon which is cut by local resident Mrs Claire Grierson. Mrs Grierson said that this project had started some 40 years ago and John Twort - also a local resident -  thanked Argyll & Bute Council, Connel Community Council and also Breedon plc for all the help they had given in achieving this excellent result.
