Street Lighting Upgrade for Connel

BEAR Scotland have told us that they are going to upgrade the street lighting in Connel.

The proposed works entail the installation of new lighting columns, ducting and cabling on the A85 Trunk Road through Connel. The existing lanterns are also to be replaced using lower energy LED lanterns in order to reduce power consumption.  The existing 20mph school signs will be refurbished and new 30mph speed activated signs installed.
The works will take place in two phases with the first phase covering the lighting from the eastern extents through to the A828 junction. The works will commence in early October 2013 and last approximately 6 weeks.  To try and minimise traffic disruption, works will be undertaken between the hours of 9.30am to 4.30pm.

BEAR are looking for feedback regarding the proposed works.  Large scale plans will be available at the next Community Council meeting on 10 September.
