The following is the text of a letter from Argyll & Bute Council regarding the closure of Achaleven Road Connel.
"I attach for your information a Temporary Closure Notice for Achaleven Road, Connel on 14th October 2012.
I confirm that the intention is that the access for vehicles is achieved by diverting traffic over the private eastern end of Achaleven Road. The rail line will be closed during this time and therefore there should not be any issues with traffic backing up onto the A85 as the gates will remain open with a Banksman.
The fact that a section of the diversion road is private has been made to Alba Traffic Management who are acting on behalf of their client, as the Council cannot be held responsible for arranging this access nor any maintenance or repair. They have been asked to consult with the land owner and gain permissions.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any point clarified.
