Roads Situation - Argyll & Bute Council Report

 Information from Argyll & Bute Council

 Forecast for Wed 5th was for moderate snow falls from 5a.m. onwards, increasing to affect all districts during the morning. Plan was to mobilise P1 routes 05:00hrs (through 2 drivers/day) and P2s from 06:00hrs, treating in advance of snow and continuing to patrol through morning.
A817 & A814 GLH by-pass ploughed 05:30-06:30, icy elsewhere in Lomond. A816 Salachry, slush. Islay,Kintyre & Knapdale clear until 07:30hr pre-treated. A816 & A819 Lorn Snow/slush. Snow on B845/C29 Dalavich,. Icy in North Mull, slush A849 Glenmore. Snow A886 Leanach.
Treatments held on lower routes due to heavy rain but patrols continue in developing situation.
Outlook :- Deep Low Pressure system centred over Argyll 12:00hrs Wed 5th , Northerly air flows and wintry showers for the next 36 - 48 hrs. Overnight min Air Temps subzero for the next 10 to 14 days at least, with still a general trend for next 30 days of marginal conditions.
