Height Warning Signs
A828 Connel Bridge
Jim Mather MSP wrote to Harry Powell on 2 November to tell us that Scotland TranServ had consulted various bodies, including the Police, but were still of the opinion that the "Overheight Warning" signage had been positioned in the optimum situations.
However, Scotland TranServ have conceded that "to mitigate (I think they mean minimise!) the visual impact" they are considering the possibility of installing a permanent power supply which will allow them to remove the wind turbines and the photoelectric panels.
This is not the solution we had hoped for but it looks as if it might be the best that can be achieved.
We have had no further information on the efficiency of the signage. Many people had reported that the signs were activated when no overheight vehicles were anywhere near them. Perhaps this has now been corrected but if you know otherwise, please let us know at connelcc@tiscali.co.uk

Following the Inaugural Meeting of the new Connel Community Council yesterday we have decided to write back to Jim Mather MSP saying that the TranServ response is just not good enough. Watch this space.
