The December 2016 winners, drawn by Cllr Craig Fraser at the Avoch & Killen Community Council meeting on 6th December 2016 are:

Christmas Lights Fund 100 Club

For those of you who have not come across a 100 club before, here is a description of the scheme:

Up to 100 people buy one or more ‘shares’ per year. Half the total sum raised goes to the Avoch and Killen Christmas Lights Fund and the remainder is distributed four times per annum to winning ‘shareholders’ whose share numbers have been drawn.

The cost of each yearly share is £12 (£1 per month). Shareholders may hold more than one share. The first draw will take place at the December AKCC monthly meeting.

Each share will be numbered and that number will belong to the member to whom it is allocated for as long as he or she is a paid-up member of the 100 Club.

All share numbers are included in each draw. The draw will be made by at least two officials of the Avoch & Killen Community Council. Prize money will depend on the number of paid-up shareholders at the time of the draw.

Income from 100 shares @ £12 per share = £1,200.

Three main draws: March, June, September.

Prizes = 1st prize £75, 2nd prize £35, 3rd prize £15,
There will be a bonus Christmas Draw held in December.

Prizes = 1st prize £100, 2nd prize £75, 3rd prize £50.

TOTAL PAYOUTS = £600 Surplus to Avoch and Killen Christmas Lights Fund = £600. If fewer than 100 shares are taken up these figures would be adjusted proportionately.

You can see that this scheme raises a substantial amount of money towards the Avoch and Killen Christmas Lights Fund – and gives you a chance of winning your money back each quarter – and more! Your interest in the Christmas Lights Fund, and your support, is greatly appreciated and we hope you will want to take part in this fund-raising scheme.

The results will be posted on the AKCC website www.community-council.org.uk/avochandkillencommunitycouncil/ and Facebook page and the winners’ cheques will be sent out the week following the draw.
