Driving Safely Out of Lockdown

The Highland Road Safety Action Partnership (HRSAP) are promoting a campaign to help everyone returning to the roads after Lockdown to do so safely.

During lockdown most of us will have been driving much less than we used to and when we have driven, we have usually been driving much shorter distances.  Again, probably most will not have done any high-speed driving.  Some will have not driven at all during lockdown.  Drivers who are out of practice and have not needed the required level of concentration and responsiveness may be a hazard to themselves and other road users.  At the same time, underutilised vehicles may have suffered and should be checked over before being put back into regular or more demanding use.

Police Scotland have produced a series of videos to help us get back to driving safely.  These can be viewed on Facebook as follows:

Vehicle Checks

Driver Education

Motorbike Checks

Motorbike Education

Note that these Videos do have a soundtrack, but start automastically with the sound muted.  Just need to turn it on and restart the video...

If you have troub,le getting theselinks to work you may ba able to view in the Cloud.
