The impact of Vehicle Activated Speed Signs on Speeding in Aberfeldy

Traffic Surveys were conducted in 2017 due to concerns about the extent of speeding in Aberfeldy.  They demonstrated a significant problem and steps were taken to try to reduce the scale.  One such was the programme of erecting Vehicle Activated Speed Signs (VASS). During the period October 1st to October 17th the site on Taybridge Road was re-surveyed to assess the impact of the VASS on speeding.  Overall there has been improvement, but there is room for more.  The data show there are still an average of 5 vehicles a day doing more than 40 mph.  That is a fatality waiting to happen.  Please see impact risk graph below.
